Call us, helplines urge troubled teens

1a) List two reasons why teens are reluctant to call helplines despite the promise of anonymity and professional help.

1a)List two reasons why teens are reluctant to call helplines despite the promise of anonymity and professional help.

They do not trust stranger and they would rather trust their freinds and teacher than strangers.
They also feel weird talking to someone they do not know. They prefer to talk to their friends as it is easier to communicate.Oit of 46 students surveyed, 44 of them choose to talk to their teacher and friends and only 2 choose to call the helplines. If helplines want to receive more calls they must know what to expect.

b) According to Ms Lily Chu, how does Touch Leadership and Mentoring prefer to help troubled teens?

According to Mrs Lily Chu, the Touch Leadership and Mentoring prefer to help the youth through more direct, effective means, such as educational workshop in schools, face to face counselling and home visit.

2) Have you confided in your friends or family members about the problems you face in school life? Why or why not?

I have confided in my friends and family members about the problems i faced in school and life as i trust them. i am also not used to talking to stranger i never met and spoken to before. No body have every betrayed me before

What do you think of children who stay away from their parents' funerals because they believe the traditional rites are against their new religion?

1a) The four rules for religious are:

1)All groups have to exercise tolerance and restraint
We must share this country with other people. Each group of people have different teachings and practice. we must learn to be tolerant and be patient with each other.Hence the rules that apply to only one group of people cannot be enforced
2)Keep religionseperate from politics
Religion in Singapore is different from religion in America and Islamic country.This is tom prevent crash from different religious groups
3)Goverment must remain secular
The Goverment authorities comes from the people and it has to be nuetral and fair.The laws passed by the parliment are elected by people.They dont come from a sacred book. They are not against any religion, they uphold sound moral values.All races are treated equally.
4)Maintain the common space that all singaporean share
The common place we share meals,schools and workplace has to be neutral and secular

We must respect and tolerate people of different religion. School must be neutral and secular. Everybody must also have equal treatment.

I respect other religion. I treat all religion equally and respect them. I that the children does not respect their parents religion . These children are also unfillial.

Elderly Falling Prey to 'Volunteer' Ruse

1a) What is the modus operandi (method of operating) of the con artists?
They pretend that they are volunteers from Lions Befriendes Association and ask them to open the gate so that they can go inside the house to clean up their house. When they go into the house, they pretend to clean the house up but they are actually stealing money. The con artist is a plump in her 30sor 40s and speaks in mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien. Ocassionally she also pretend to be a health official.
b) What are the Lion Befrienders planning to do to ensure the old folks do not get conned again?
They are reminding the elderly that before letting a stranger in the house, ask for their identification pass bearing the vistors name and Befrienders` logo. They would also ask older volunteers to introduce new volunteers
2) Do you like doing social work? Why or why not?

I not like doing social work although it is meaningfuland a good thing to help the elderly, i find it boring and a waste of time.
